Vula began her career as a backing vocalist for various artists, including Basement Jaxx, before releasing her debut solo album, "Vula", in 2006. She has since released two further solo albums, "The Light" (2009) and "The Journey" (2013). Vula has also collaborated with a number of other artists, including Mark Ronson, Groove Armada, and The Streets. She has also written and produced music for films, including "The Boat That Rocked" (2009) and "The Inbetweeners Movie" (2011). In 2019, she collaborated as featured artist with English DJ Riton and Dutch producer Oliver Heldens on the song "Turn Me On", a cover of 1977 song "Docteur Love" by American band First Choice and 1982 Yazoo's track "Don't Go".
