He moved to the United States with his family when he was a child. He attended the University of Miami, where he studied theater and film. Sanchez began his career as a stand-up comedian in the late 1980s. He has since appeared in numerous television shows, films, and voice-over roles. He is also a writer and producer, having written and produced for shows such as The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
