Jaime Luis Gomez, better known by his stage name Taboo, is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, actor, and DJ. He is best known as a member of the hip hop group The Black Eyed Peas. Taboo was born on July 14, 1975 in Los Angeles, California. He is of Mexican and Native American descent. He grew up in East Los Angeles and attended James A. Garfield High School. Taboo began his career as a DJ in the early 1990s. He then joined the hip hop group The Black Eyed Peas in 1995. The group released their debut album, Behind the Front, in 1998. The album was a success and spawned the hit single "Joints & Jam". The group went on to release several more successful albums, including Elephunk (2003), Monkey Business (2005), and The E.N.D. (2009). Taboo has also released two solo albums, Release (2006) and Taboo (2009). He has also appeared in several films, including Street Kings (2008), The Hangover Part II (2011), and The Muppets (2011). As of 2021, Taboo's net worth is estimated to be roughly $20 million.
