Shantay Legans is an American professional basketball coach and former player. He is currently the head coach of the University of California, Davis men's basketball team. He played college basketball at Fresno State and professionally in the NBA G League and overseas. Legans was born in Ventura, California and attended Ventura High School. He played college basketball at Fresno State, where he was a two-time All-WAC selection. He was also named the WAC Player of the Year in 2003. Legans went undrafted in the 2003 NBA draft and played professionally in the NBA G League and overseas. He played for the Idaho Stampede, Albuquerque Thunderbirds, and Austin Toros of the NBA G League. He also played in the Philippines, Mexico, and Venezuela. Legans began his coaching career in 2011 as an assistant coach at Fresno State. He was then an assistant coach at UC Davis from 2013 to 2017. In 2017, he was named the head coach of the UC Davis men's basketball team. Legans is married to his wife, Tanya, and they have two children. He is 39 years old.

Coach Shantay Legans was named Big Sky Coach of the Year in 2020 as his team went on a winning record with at 23-8 and finishing first in the Big Sky.
