Robert Watzke is an American actor, director, and editor. He is best known for his roles in the films The Last of the Mohicans (1992), The Shawshank Redemption (1994), and The Green Mile (1999). He has also appeared in television series such as The X-Files, Law & Order, and NYPD Blue. Watzke was born in Iowa City, Iowa, and graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in theatre. He began his career as an actor in the early 1980s, appearing in several off-Broadway productions. He made his feature film debut in the 1992 film The Last of the Mohicans. In 1994, Watzke was cast in the role of prison guard Byron Hadley in the critically acclaimed film The Shawshank Redemption. He went on to appear in the 1999 film The Green Mile, and in the television series The X-Files, Law & Order, and NYPD Blue. In addition to his acting career, Watzke has also worked as a director and editor. He has directed several short films, including the award-winning short film The Last of the Mohicans: The Legend of Chingachgook (1996).
