A 1997 episode of the show that Rick directed received the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award. Prior to his work on the show, Duffield had a career in book publishing with stints in both editorial and sales.
Rick Duffield is best known for his work as the Creator & Executive Producer of the award-winning PBS children's series Wishbone (1995).
Duffield debuted the series in 1995, eventually producing fifty half-hour episodes and the Showtime feature-length movie Wishbone's Dog Days of the West (1998), which Duffield also directed. He directed thirteen of the episodes. The series has been honored by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for its positive contributions to children's television, recognized by the Prix Jeunesse Internationale, and twice awarded Best Children's Series by the Television Critics Association. Wishbone earned nine Daytime Emmy nominations and won five Daytime Emmy Awards.
