Pat Battle is an American journalist and news anchor. She was born on December 9, 1959, in New York City. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in English. Battle began her career in journalism in 1981 as a reporter for WNBC-TV in New York City. She then moved to WCBS-TV in New York City in 1984, where she served as a reporter and anchor for the station's evening newscasts. In 1989, she joined WNBC-TV as a reporter and anchor for the station's morning newscasts. Battle has been a correspondent for NBC News since 1997, covering a variety of stories including the September 11th attacks, Hurricane Katrina, and the 2008 presidential election. She has also served as a substitute anchor for NBC's Weekend Today and MSNBC's Morning Joe. In addition to her work in journalism, Battle is also an author. She has written two books, "The Battle Plan: A Woman's Guide to Winning the Corporate Game" and "The Battle Plan for Women: Winning the Corporate Game."
