Halik studied at the Yuri Gargarin Cosmonaut Training Academy in Moscow, Russia. After a number of years, he completed his qualifications and certifications. He was the back-up cosmonaut for the Russian Soyuz TMA-13 flight to Earth's only manned outpost in orbit – International Space Station in 2008. The expected price of including Halik on the mission to the moon is 30 million U.S. Dollars.
