Nagarjuna Akkineni is an Indian film actor, producer, and television presenter who works primarily in Telugu cinema. He has acted in over ninety films as an actor in a lead, supporting, and cameo roles, including Bollywood and Tamil films. He has received nine state Nandi Awards, three Filmfare Awards South, and a National Film Award-Special Mention. In 1996, he produced, Ninne Pelladata, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu. He is also the president of the non-profit film school Annapurna International School of Film and Media based in Hyderabad. Nagarjuna was born on 29 August 1959 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He is the son of veteran actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Annapurna Akkineni. He has two brothers, Akkineni Venkat and Akkineni Nagarjuna. He attended the Hyderabad Public School and Little Flower Junior College in Hyderabad. He graduated with a degree in commerce from the Osmania University. Nagarjuna made his acting debut in 1986 with the Telugu film Vikram. He has since starred in over ninety films in a variety of genres, including action, drama, romance, comedy, and horror. He has also acted in several Bollywood and Tamil films. He has won several awards, including nine state Nandi Awards, three Filmfare Awards South, and a National Film Award-Special Mention. Nagarjuna is also a successful producer. He produced the 1996 Telugu film Ninne Pelladata, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu. He also owns the production company Annapurna Studios. Nagarjuna is also a television presenter. He has hosted the Telugu game show Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu since 2014. He has also hosted the Telugu reality show Bigg Boss Telugu since 2017. Nagarjuna is married to Amala Akkineni, an actress and animal rights activist. They have a son, Akhil Akkineni, who is also an actor.
