Mitchell Carmichael (born April 15, 1960) is an American politician. He is also a Republican member of the West Virginia Senate representing District 4 since 2012. Carmichael served consecutively in the West Virginia Legislature from 2000 through 2012 in the West Virginia House of Delegates representing District 12. Carmichael was a candidate for Governor of West Virginia in 2011. As President of the state Senate since January 2017, he holds the title Lieutenant Governor of West Virginia.
