Mike Alfonso is an American professional wrestler and actor. He is best known for his time in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW). He is also known by his ring names, The Career Killer, That '80s Guy, The Gladiator, That 70s Guy, Fat Chick Thriller, The Mullet Guy, The Awesome One, and Mike Awesome. Alfonso was born on January 24, 1965 in Tampa, Florida. He began his professional wrestling career in 1989, competing in various independent promotions in the United States. In 1993, he joined ECW and quickly became one of the promotion's top stars. He held the ECW World Heavyweight Championship twice and the ECW World Television Championship once. In 2000, Alfonso joined WCW and became a main eventer. He held the WCW World Heavyweight Championship once and the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship twice. He left WCW in 2001 and returned to the independent circuit. Alfonso has also appeared in several films and television shows, including the films Ready to Rumble (2000) and The Wrestler (2008).
