In 2018, she was appointed host of Seven’s Test Cricket and Big Bash League Coverage alongside James Brayshaw.
In January 2016, cricketer Chris Gayle propositioned McLaughlin during a live interview during a Big Bash game. He was sanctioned with a A$ 10,000 fine for inappropriate conduct.
In April 2016, McLaughlin moved to the Seven Network. She was appointed weeknight sport presenter on Seven News Sydney replacing Jim Wilson. She hosted Seven's coverage of the 2016 Summer Olympics, 2018 Winter Olympics and the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She hosted the network's coverage of the Australian Swimming Championships and 2017 Rugby League World Cup. She has also filled in as sports presenter on Sunrise.
