Matt Morgan is a former American football player who was born on December 3, 1980 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he played college football for the Panthers. After college, he was drafted by the New England Patriots in the fourth round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He played for the Patriots for three seasons before being released in 2006. Morgan was a two-time All-Big East selection and was named the Big East Defensive Player of the Year in 2002. He was also a two-time All-American selection and was named the Big East Defensive Player of the Year in 2002. Morgan was a two-time Pro Bowl selection and was named to the All-Pro team in 2004. He was also named to the NFL All-Decade Team for the 2000s. Morgan retired from the NFL in 2008 and is currently the defensive line coach at the University of Pittsburgh.
