She then went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Michigan. Graff has written numerous books for children and young adults, including A Tangle of Knots, The Thing About Georgie, and The Great Treehouse War. Her books have been nominated for numerous awards, including the National Book Award, the Newbery Honor, and the Schneider Family Book Award. Graff currently lives in New York City with her husband and two children. She is an active member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
