She is the daughter of a former South African tennis champion, and she began playing tennis at the age of six. Boshoff was a successful junior player, winning the South African Junior Championships in 1974 and 1975. She went on to compete in the professional circuit, reaching a career-high ranking of No. 28 in the world in 1981. She won two singles titles and four doubles titles during her career. Boshoff retired from professional tennis in 1985 and has since become a successful coach. She has coached several South African players, including Amanda Coetzer, who reached a career-high ranking of No. 3 in the world. Boshoff is currently married to former South African tennis player, Pieter Aldrich. She has two children, a son and a daughter.
