She is a two-time Olympic medalist, having won a gold medal in the 4x200m freestyle relay at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, and a bronze medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Hehn began swimming competitively at the age of seven and was a member of the United States National Team from 1998 to 2008. She attended the University of Georgia, where she was a four-time All-American and a two-time NCAA champion. Hehn is currently the head coach of the women's swimming and diving team at the University of South Carolina.
