Keith Allain is an American ice hockey coach who was born on 26 September, 1958 in Worcester, Massachusetts, United States. He is currently the head coach of the Yale Bulldogs men's ice hockey team. He has also served as an assistant coach for the St. Louis Blues and the Washington Capitals. Allain attended Worcester Academy and then went on to play college hockey at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He was a member of the Badgers' 1977 NCAA championship team. Allain began his coaching career in 1983 as an assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He then served as an assistant coach for the St. Louis Blues from 1988 to 1992. He was then hired as the head coach of the Washington Capitals in 1992, but was fired after one season. Allain returned to college hockey in 1994 when he was hired as the head coach of the Yale Bulldogs men's ice hockey team. He has been the head coach of the Bulldogs ever since, leading them to three NCAA tournament appearances and two ECAC tournament championships. Allain has also served as an assistant coach for the United States men's national ice hockey team at the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics.
