Joe Tartamella is an American basketball coach and former player. He is currently the head coach of the women's basketball team at St. John's University. He was born on June 2, 1979 in Saint James, New York. Tartamella played college basketball at St. John's University from 1997 to 2001. He was a four-year letterman and a two-time captain for the Red Storm. He was named to the All-Big East Third Team in 2001. After graduating from St. John's, Tartamella began his coaching career as an assistant coach at St. John's in 2001. He was promoted to associate head coach in 2006 and served in that role until 2011. He then served as an assistant coach at Rutgers University from 2011 to 2013. In 2013, Tartamella was named the head coach of the women's basketball team at St. John's. In his first season, he led the Red Storm to a 20-13 record and a WNIT appearance. As of 2021, Joe Tartamella's net worth is estimated to be roughly $1 million.
