Joan Vennochi is an American journalist and columnist for The Boston Globe. She has been a columnist for the Globe since 1997, and her columns appear in the Sunday Globe and on the Globe's website. She is also a frequent guest on local and national television and radio programs. Vennochi graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1975 with a degree in journalism. She began her career as a reporter for the Lowell Sun in Lowell, Massachusetts, and later worked as a reporter for the Boston Herald. She joined the Globe in 1984 as a reporter and was promoted to columnist in 1997. Vennochi has won numerous awards for her work, including the National Headliner Award, the New England Associated Press News Executives Association Award, and the New England Society of Newspaper Editors Award. She was also a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Commentary in 2004. Vennochi is married to former Boston Globe editor and publisher Matthew V. Storin. They have two children.

Hawes Jr., Nils Bruzelius, and Robert M. Porterfield she won the 1980 Pulitzer Prize for Local Investigative Specialized Reporting.
