Olivor was born Linda Cohen in New York City on May 18, 1947. She began her career as a singer in the early 1970s, performing in clubs and cabarets in New York City. She was signed to Columbia Records in 1974 and released her debut album, Jane Olivor, that same year. The album featured the hit single "Stay the Night," which reached number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Olivor released her second album, Chasing Rainbows, in 1976. The album featured the hit single "The Best Side of Goodbye," which reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. She released her third album, The Best Side of Goodbye, in 1978. Olivor has continued to perform and record throughout her career. She has released several albums, including her most recent, A Time for Love, in 2017. She has also appeared in several films and television shows, including the television movie The Best Little Girl in the World (1981). Olivor has been married twice and has two children. She currently resides in New York City.
