James Tobin is an Australian television presenter and radio host. He is best known for his work on the Nine Network's Today show, where he has been a regular presenter since 2011. Tobin was born on 1 April 1980 in Sydney, Australia. He attended the University of Sydney, where he studied a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communications. Tobin began his career in television in 2003, when he joined the Seven Network's Sunrise program as a reporter. He then moved to the Nine Network in 2006, where he worked as a reporter and presenter on the Today show. In 2011, Tobin was appointed as a regular presenter on the Today show, where he has remained ever since. He has also presented a number of other programs, including the Nine Network's The Voice Australia and The Block. Tobin is also a radio host, having hosted the breakfast show on Sydney's Nova 96.9 from 2011 to 2013. As of 2021, James Tobin's net worth is estimated to be approximately $2 million.

In January 2020, the Seven Network announced that Tobin will join Better Homes and Gardens as presenter covering Motoring and Technology.
In April 2013, it was announced that James will be the new host of Beauty and the Geek Australia.
In April 2010, Tobin was the runner-up to Firass Dirani in the Cleo Bachelor of the Year. He is also an ambassador for Father Chris Riley's "Youth Off The Street's Get Reel" program. James has also hosted the second series of the Australian lifestyle television show No Leave, No Life.
In October 2009, Tobin was announced as weather presenter of Weekend Sunrise while also regularly filling in for weekday Sunrise weather presenter Grant Denyer. During May to June 2011, Tobin presented weather across both Sunrise and Weekend Sunrise for 30 days straight whilst Denyer was on paternity leave.
