After Peter and Gordon disbanded in 1968, Waller had a solo career. He played the role of "The Pharaoh" in the London production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". He also ran a music-publishing concern.
The younger member of the 1960s British duo Peter and Gordon, their rendition of "A World Without Love" became the first John Lennon-Paul McCartney composition--not recorded by The Beatles--to reach #1 on the charts (June 1964). Another Lennon-McCartney song, "Nobody I Know", followed soon after. Their 1966 hit release "Woman" was written by McCartney under the pseudonym, "Bernard Webb", as McCartney was eager to see if he could score a hit song without the Lennon-McCartney names attached.
