Goffredo Alessandrini was an Italian film director, screenwriter, and actor. He was born in Cairo, Egypt, on 9 September 1904, to Italian parents. He began his career as an actor in the early 1920s, appearing in several films. He then moved into directing, and his first film was the comedy "Il Marito di Sua Moglie" (1930). He went on to direct a number of films, including the classic "Roma Città Aperta" (1945), which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. He also wrote the screenplay for the film. Alessandrini's other notable films include "La Terra Trema" (1948), "La Strada" (1954), and "Il Bidone" (1955). He also wrote the screenplay for the latter two films. He died in Rome on 28 April 1985. Goffredo Alessandrini's net worth is estimated to be around $1 million.
