George Bilson was a British film producer, writer, and director. He was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England, UK on 25 August 1902. He began his career in the film industry in the early 1920s, working as a production assistant and assistant director. He eventually became a producer and director, working on a number of films in the 1930s and 1940s. He was best known for producing the classic British comedy films Passport to Pimlico (1949) and The Lavender Hill Mob (1951). He also wrote and directed a number of films, including the comedy The Ghost of St. Michael's (1941). Bilson died in London on 15 April, 1965. He was 62 years old.
