In July 2007, Fairuz became the first artist from the Arab World to perform in Greece, at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus.
One of the most iconic Arabian singers ever to live, Nouhad Haddad that is widely known as "Fairuz" was born in November 20,1935 in Zokak Al-Bilat in Western Beirut, Lebanon. With her angelic voice she captivated the hearts of many in the Arabic world as well as in the whole world only to become one of the most influential Arabian singers ever to come and her voice as one of the best ever to exist. It has become a habit for many in countries like Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Tunisia among others to listen to her songs first thing early in the morning and most Arabian radio stations broadcast her songs at this time. Many foreigners too do listen to her songs without being able to speak or understand Arabic. Therefore, she received a lot of honors and awards from countries like France (Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur), United States (the key to the city of Las Vegas), as well as Arabian countries from Lebanon to Syria, Jordan, Tunisia, Palestine, Egypt, and above that the United Nations.
