Erich Schiffmann is an American yoga teacher and author. He is best known for his teachings on the Viniyoga style of yoga, which he developed from his studies of the Krishnamacharya lineage. Schiffmann was born in Los Angeles, California in 1953. He began studying yoga in the 1970s, and in the 1980s he studied with T.K.V. Desikachar, the son of the renowned yoga teacher Krishnamacharya.
