Married twice. He had two daughters, Chrissie and Susannah, from his first marriage, and two daughters, Samantha and Georgina, from his second. He met his second wife, Miranda, a dancer/choreographer, in London while performing in a 1969 production of "Promises, Promises" (she was a lead dancer). She survives him.
American character player and acting teacher who studied at the Actors Studio from 1952 on and later had a thriving career in England. Appeared in many musicals including the original Broadway production of "South Pacific" and such West End productions as "Promises, Promises," "Crazy for You" and "Chicago", as well as the Royal Shakespeare Company.
