David Dubinsky was a Russian-born American actor who was active in the entertainment industry from the 1920s to the 1950s. He was born in Brzesc, Poland, Russian Empire (now Brest, Belarus) on February 22, 1892. Dubinsky began his career in the theater, performing in Yiddish plays in the 1920s. He made his film debut in the 1929 silent film The Jazz Singer, and went on to appear in over 50 films throughout his career. He was best known for his roles in films such as The Jazz Singer (1929), The Great Dictator (1940), and The Jolson Story (1946). Dubinsky was married to actress and singer Fanny Brice from 1929 to 1938. He died on April 15, 1959 in Los Angeles, California.
