Darryl Drake was born on 11 December, 1956 in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. He attended Western Kentucky University, where he played wide receiver and graduated in 1979. Drake began his coaching career in 1980 as a graduate assistant at the University of Kentucky. He then moved on to coach wide receivers at the University of Cincinnati (1981-1982), the University of Arizona (1983-1985), and the University of Pittsburgh (1986-1989). In 1990, Drake was hired as the wide receivers coach for the Chicago Bears, where he remained until 1999. He then moved on to coach wide receivers for the Arizona Cardinals (2000-2003), the Pittsburgh Steelers (2004-2006), and the Chicago Bears again (2007-2012). In 2013, Drake was hired as the wide receivers coach for the University of Pittsburgh. He was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2015 and held the position until 2018. Drake is currently the wide receivers coach for the Arizona Cardinals. Drake is married to his wife, Lisa, and they have two children.
