Bruce J. Oreck is an American lawyer and diplomat who served as the United States Ambassador to Finland from 2009 to 2015. He was born in New York City and graduated from Harvard College in 1975 and Harvard Law School in 1978. Oreck began his career as a lawyer in New York City, working for the firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison. He then moved to Washington, D.C., where he served as a senior advisor to the U.S. Trade Representative and as a special assistant to the Secretary of Commerce. In 2009, President Barack Obama nominated Oreck to be the U.S. Ambassador to Finland. He was confirmed by the Senate and served in that position until 2015. Oreck is currently a partner at the law firm of Oreck & Associates, LLC, in Washington, D.C. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the International Institute for Strategic Studies. As of 2021, Bruce J. Oreck's net worth is estimated to be $1 million.
