Bobby Farrelly is an American film producer, director, and screenwriter. He is best known for his work with his brother Peter Farrelly on the comedy films Dumb and Dumber, There's Something About Mary, Me, Myself & Irene, Shallow Hal, Stuck on You, and Hall Pass. Bobby Farrelly was born on June 17, 1958 in Cumberland, Rhode Island. He is the youngest of nine children born to Mariann Farrelly and Robert Leo Farrelly Sr. He attended Providence College, where he studied English and graduated in 1981. Bobby Farrelly began his career in the entertainment industry as a production assistant on the television series The Rerun Show. He then went on to write and direct several short films, including The King of the Hill and Outside Providence. In 1994, Bobby and his brother Peter wrote and directed their first feature film, Dumb and Dumber. The film was a huge success, grossing over $247 million worldwide. The Farrelly brothers went on to write and direct several other successful comedies, including There's Something About Mary, Me, Myself & Irene, Shallow Hal, Stuck on You, and Hall Pass.
