Betty Aberlin is an American actress and singer best known for her role as Lady Aberlin on the children's television series Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. She was born on December 30, 1942 in New York City, New York. She attended the High School of Performing Arts in New York City and graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in theater. Aberlin began her career in the theater, appearing in productions of The Fantasticks, The Threepenny Opera, and The Skin of Our Teeth. She made her television debut in 1967 on the soap opera The Edge of Night. In 1968, she joined the cast of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, where she played Lady Aberlin for over 30 years. In addition to her work on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, Aberlin has appeared in numerous television shows and films, including The Electric Company, The Muppet Show, The Cosby Show, and The Simpsons. She has also released two albums of children's music, Lady Aberlin's Songs and Stories and Lady Aberlin's Sing-Along. Aberlin has been married to actor and director John Bell since 1975. They have two children.
