After graduation, he worked as a software engineer for several years before founding his own venture capital firm in 2011. Yousefi has invested in a number of Iranian startups, including the online marketplace Digikala, the online travel agency TripAdvisor, and the online payment platform Pay.ir. He has also invested in a number of international startups, including the online marketplace Etsy, the online payment platform Stripe, and the online marketplace Amazon. Yousefi is also a philanthropist and has donated to a number of charities, including the Iranian Red Crescent Society and the Iranian Children's Charity. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Iranian Entrepreneurship Association.
