Ahmass Fakahany is an Egyptian businessman and entrepreneur. He is the founder and chairman of the board of directors of the Arab African International Bank (AAIB). He is also the chairman of the board of directors of the Arab African International Holding Company (AAIHC). Fakahany was born in Cairo, Egypt, and graduated from the American University in Cairo in 1981 with a degree in economics. He began his career in banking in 1982, when he joined the Arab African International Bank as a credit analyst. He rose through the ranks to become the bank's managing director in 1989. In 1997, Fakahany founded the Arab African International Holding Company, which is a holding company for the Arab African International Bank. He has served as the chairman of the board of directors of the AAIHC since its inception. Fakahany is a member of the board of directors of the Egyptian Banking Institute, the Egyptian Banking Federation, and the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority. He is also a member of the board of trustees of the American University in Cairo. As of 2021, Ahmass Fakahany's net worth is estimated to be around $1.2 billion.

Ahmass Fakahany was born in Cairo, Egypt. He was Co-President and Chief Operating Officer of Merrill Lynch (and previously Vice Chairman, Chief Financial Officer and COO Global Markets and Investment Banking) retiring in 2007 following 20 years with the company. After retirement, he founded the restaurant hospitality firm, Altamarea Group with chef and partner Michael White in 2009 and in 2017, Altamarea was named as one of the fastest growing companies in America by Inc. Magazine. The group now operates 15 restaurants worldwide, including a signature restaurant Marea in New York City that has consistently received two Michelin stars. Marea Dubai was opened at the DIFC in 2019. The company also runs Ai Fiori and Vaucluse in New York and operates mid-range, quality-casual restaurants in the Morini and Nicoletta brands.
