Adam Lazzara is an American singer, songwriter, and musician best known as the lead vocalist of the rock band Taking Back Sunday. He has also released solo material under the name Lazzara. Lazzara was born in Sheffield, Alabama, and grew up in the nearby town of Tuscumbia. He attended Deshler High School, where he was a member of the school's marching band. He later attended the University of Alabama, where he studied music. Lazzara began his music career in 1999, when he joined Taking Back Sunday. The band released their debut album, Tell All Your Friends, in 2002. The album was a commercial success, and the band went on to release several more albums, including Louder Now (2006), New Again (2009), and Taking Back Sunday (2011). In addition to his work with Taking Back Sunday, Lazzara has released solo material under the name Lazzara. His debut solo album, The Lost Year, was released in 2011. Lazzara has also collaborated with other artists, including the band The Used, on their album Lies for the Liars (2007). He has also appeared on the albums of other artists, including The Bled's Found in the Flood (2005) and The Audition's Great Danger (2008). In the early 2006, Lazzara met Chauntelle Dupree, guitarist of Eisley, while on tour. They started dating and became engaged on February 14, 2007. They were to be married in March 2008, but it was announced by Dupree's father in January 2008 that the wedding had been called off and that she and Lazzara had split. One month after breaking things off with DuPree, Lazzara began dating Misha Vaagen, a local bartender who had been a family friend of the DuPrees.
